On the 4 June 2010, Yan Nie received the Award for Outstanding self financed Students. This award set up by the Chinese Scholarship Council, rewards Chinese PhD students studying in 29 countries all over the world and not sponsored by China. 500 Students, including 20 in France, received this prestigious award in 2009. Yan is the only recipient working the field of Biological Sciences
Yan is currently a second year PhD student at the EMBL-Grenoble Outstation in the group directed by Imre Berger. He is developing new methods for expressing protein complexes in eukaryotic cells. Well Done Yan!
