Purpose of the platform (operated by EMBL)

The Facility

The Eukaryotic Expression Facility at EMBL Grenoble includes:

two biosafety level 1 labs for protein expression via the MultiBac-EMBL system.

Introduction into baculovirus/insect cell expression
Introduction into MultiBac-EMBL system for multiprotein complex production
Providing transfer vectors and protocols for multigene expression cassette generation
Providing E. coli cells for composite bacmid generation
Providing insect cells for virus generation and amplification
Viral performance and protein production monitoring
Small, medium, and large scale expression of proteins and protein complexes

two biosafety level 2 labs for the growth of mammalian cells, either adherent or in suspension.

Collaboration/Acknowledgement:
Please do not forget to acknowledge the EEF facility at EMBL Grenoble when publishing any results obtained with insect or mammalian cells. Please do so by writing, prior submission, the following sentence in the acknowledgements section of your publication:
