PSB Spotlight on Single-Molecule Technology

Event date : Thursday, 16 October 2025

Location: IBS Seminar Room, EPN Campus, Grenoble

Time: 09:15-12:00

This event will be dedicated to the presentation of two single-molecule techniques: (i) optical tweezers (C-Trap), and (ii) atomic force microscopy (conventional, high speed and correlative), to illustrate the potential of these two techniques to provide functional insight into dynamic processes that are difficult to apprehend with classical structural biology approaches. Two expert users of each of these techniques will present their ongoing research to illustrate the strengths, but also the limitations, of these approaches. The Lumicks company that has developed the C-Trap instrument will also be present and will shortly present their technology and its applications to follow interactions between diverse biological objects (cells, proteins, nucleic acids, sugars, LLPS etc.)
